How Rumble Grids Work

Rumble grids or trackout grids are an effective way to reduce the amount of debris leaving your construction site.

Below is a description of how rumble grids/trackout grids work:

Tyre Flattens

As the vehicle tyre travels over the peaks of the trackout grid the weight from the truck squashes the tyre flat horizontally.

Tyre Grooves Close Up

This flattening effect squashes and closes up the grooves in the tyre. Along with the groove closing up the mud, dirt and debris in the groove is also squashed.

Grooves Release

As the tyre travels over the peak it returns to its natural shape which is curved. As the tyre moves from a flattened state to a curved state the grooves open back up releasing the squashed debris.

Shaking Effect

As the vehicle tyres travel between peaks and troughs a shaking motion is generated which helps to further remove debris from the tyres.
